Four stars for Thai food in Hood River. The prices are about $10/entree with just the right portion. It is a little cozy restaurant with outside seating available ( especially nice during warm sunny days) . If you are visiting Hood River and get a Thai craving, this is the place to go. I personally enjoyed the chicken Pad Thai and the Lemongrass chicken, which comes with a side of white rice. If i come back to Hood River, I will definitely come back to this place!

These old reviews need an update. This menu is nice and fresh, and the coconut soup (tom kha gai) is nice, but you may be put off by the slices of rough ginger and pieces of lemongrass... but I really like the rough, earthy texture. Also, try the fried banana dessert with green tea ice cream. Plus, they almost always have a running coupon in the local circular for 10% off. Yay! Really nice spot for a date, in the evening, there's always lit candles. Edit 1/9/14: Went here a few weeks ago, and there weren't any candles lit. Awwrrrr :(

I eat a lot of Thai food in a lot of cities, this is the best Thai food in Hood River. I usually get the drunken noodles or the green curry. This place is also a favorite spot for my roommates. The spiciness levels are fairly consistent, which is a huge plus for me.

Our dinner last week was excellent. We had the spicy mango sauce special and seafood combo with summer rolls. The mango sauce was flavorful and delicious, and the summer rolls were a nice low-fat appetizer to start the meal. All vegetables in both dishes were fresh and perfectly crisp-tender. The seafood in the special was a generous portion and very good, with enough to take home for another meal. We were also able to get brown rice, which is a nice surprise. The banana cake dessert was nicely done and a great end to the meal, though we do miss the tapioca dessert they used to offer. Bring it back! For those thinking the food is bland, try ordering it at the medium spice level. Service was attentive without hovering, and we will return. While not a big deal compared to food, for a small place they have two restrooms that are clean and spacious. It makes the place much more welcoming than others in the area.

They have a fairly diverse menu, especially with the inclusion of their surprisingly satisfying Pho. The kitchen can be a bit slow at times, but I think the food is worth it. Best Thai place in Hood River.

Great food. My favorite Thai in the area. The summer rolls are amazing! We have had many meals there and they have always been good. They recently expanded their bar so they have some mixed drinks, beer and wine. The evil prince is to die for!

Wow. We chose this place for dinner because of their high rating...we left unsatisfied. We eat Thai food often and every dish we ordered was lacking in flavor. Green curry with chicken was the more flavourful of our dishes, but the color was barely green and the essence of green curry was barely recognizable. I also found it too salty. Crispy chicken (not the whole chicken) was really a bad interpretation of the name. Meat was extremely dry and only the edges were crispy which doesn't say much because of the way the pieces were cut/sliced. Phad se ew was ordered for the kids as they typically love to eat this dish...my daughter spit out every bite I gave her...I gagged after tasting it myself. The noodles tasted as if it was boiled in a pot of water previously used to boil raw meat with no seasoning. I forgot that we ordered the papaya salad. This was actually the way I expected. Flavor profile was there...the cabbage served with wasn't the freshest, but we ate it all. I will not be going back nor do I recommend this place for good Thai food. Two stars because the food was edible and service was with a smile.

Nice little restaurant, although the tables are way too close to each other. I love their cucumber infused water and every dish I've gotten has been great. The waitresses aren't always the kindest, it's either a hit or miss on service, but still better food than the Thai House which outweighs the awesome servers at the the Thai House.

For the small town of Hood River, this place has excellent Thai food. I've been here a couple times. My favorite dishes are the chicken pad thai, pineapple fried rice and mixed veggies!

In summary: when it's good, it's really really great, and when it is bad, it is awful. The art of eating here depends on the luck of showing up when the right group of people is on staff. Having Mekong open in Hood River was one of the greatest events of the last year for this ex-bay area girl. My lunchtime cohorts and I immediately put this on the once a week list and I began to fill myself with Drunken Noodles with the most amazing crispy tofu regularly. All the curries were amazing - green curry with seafood being my favorite- and their house made chili sauce is super hot and has a great, earthy flavor. Unfortunately, after the season ended in October, things totally changed... A fried rice dish was served like a lump of sticky, flavorless porridge and my usually wonderful drunken noodles were flavorless with poorly cooked veggies, the crispy tofu having the consistency of leather. The sweet sisters who were usually on staff were replaced by a merry go round of people who seem to have a distinct lack of understanding of the word "hospitality". WTF? this was confusing. After doing some asking around I found out that the family who owns the restaurant changes the cook often, and if you aren't there on the days when the mom is cooking, you're going to be shit outta luck. At the beginning she was there all the time, but now it's hard to predict when to go there. And the sweet sisters who were doing service are back in school during the school year so that accounts for the weird servers they seem to employ during the off season. Hit or miss, but when you hit, it's great food for a great price.

Gnarly. I wouldn't ever go back here. Very bland a poor consistency for Thai food. It was 2 blocks away, and unfortunately not worth the drive. I recommend hitting up a gas station and getting a bagel dog or something.

It's hard to find an open Thai restaurant in Hood River on Sunday night. This had a pleasant atmosphere-warmer than many we've been to. My beef salad was small for the price but everything else seemed good. We had our 3 boys with us (17,13,9)- curry fried chicken, chicken yakisoba,Evil Prince w/shrimp & garlic vegetable all had fabulous flavor!
